Conditional Routing

Filter and route form responses using dropdown answers, text conditions, or numeric thresholds โ€” only triggering actions when your exact criteria are met.

Match & Update Records

Don't just create โ€” update. Match form responses to existing items or subitems by any column, keeping your board accurate and free of duplicates.

Flexible Data Mapping

Map any Tally field to any monday.com column โ€” including posting the full response as an item comment. Works seamlessly with both items and subitems.

Recipe 1 of 7

Create Item or Subitem

The essential recipe. Instantly log every Tally form submission as a structured monday.com item or subitem with full column mapping.

Automation Structure
When a new entry in {Form} is received, create an {Item/Subitem} in this {Group/Item} with this {Data}

What happens

Every new form response triggers item or subitem creation. Map any Tally field to any monday.com column โ€” and optionally post the full response as an item update/comment.

Get Running in 3 Simple Steps

No OAuth flows or complex configuration. Just an API key and you're ready to automate.

Install the app from the monday.com marketplace. Then go to tally.so/settings/api-keys, click Create API Key, copy the key, and paste it into the app's credential field. Add a label to identify it. You can add multiple accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect my Tally account?

Go to tally.so/settings/api-keys, click Create API Key, then copy and paste the key into the app's credential field along with a label to identify it. You can add multiple API keys to connect different Tally accounts.

What happens when no matching item is found (Recipes 3 & 4)?

You have full control. Choose from four options: update only the first match (create new if no match), update only the first match (skip if no match), update all matching items (create new if none found), or update all matching items (skip if none found).

Can I post the full form response as a comment?

Yes! In the data mapping section, select Full Response and assign it to the Update field. This posts the complete form submission as a comment/update on the newly created or updated item or subitem.

What conditional logic options are available?

Three types: Dropdown/choice (exact answer match), text (contains, does not contain, is exactly), and number (greater than, less than, equal to, greater than or equal to, less than or equal to).

What is the Workflow Block?

In addition to the 7 automation recipes, the main Tally trigger (new form response received) is also available as a standalone workflow block. Connect it to any other custom action in monday.com's automation builder for even more flexibility.

What if some field data can't be mapped to a column type?

We always prioritize creating or updating the item/subitem first. If a Tally answer can't be converted to the target column type (e.g., a text answer into a date column), that specific column is left empty rather than failing the entire automation.
